The fifth film in a beloved horror franchise will be hitting our screens just in time for Halloween.
Hell House LLC: Lineage is set for release on Shudder via Amazon Prime Video on October 30, right in time for spooky season.
It is the final installment in the franchise, which began in 2015 with Hell House LLC, the eerie mockumentary that explores how a group of scare attraction workers died at the supposedly haunted Abaddon Hotel, 15 years after the tragedy occurred.
Hell House LLC: Lineage sees Elizabeth Vermilyea return to the role of Vanessa Shepard, haunted by recurring nightmares years after her terrifying ordeal at the Abaddon.
A synopsis continues: ‘Vanessa finds herself living in the town of Abaddon, unable to break free from its unexplainable hold on her.
‘When people around her suddenly and inexplicably begin to die, she soon uncovers her terrifying connection to the Abaddon Hotel, the Carmichael Manor, and the mysterious murders that have been occurring for decades, long before Hell House LLC.’

It is the first film in the franchise that is not found footage, with director Stephen Cognetti branding it the ‘scariest’ of the bunch.
Hell House LLC: Lineage currently holds a 21% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and 53% from audiences.
In their review, Bloody Disgusting wrote: ‘Hell House LLC transitions into traditional narrative filmmaking, expanding the increasingly dense and convoluted Abaddon lore in a way that’s unwelcoming to newcomers. In the process, it also loses its atmospheric edge and ability to scare.’
RogerEbert.com added: ‘The overwritten plotting drags down any attempt to care about what’s happening or to get lost in the terror.’
However, Collider thought: ‘Hell House LLC: Lineage has its moments of quality, with a few sequences and visuals that work well and deliver that same gut punch of dread that the first one is so fondly remembered for. But it signals that Cognetti is ready for something new.’
B-sides and Badlands said: ‘Stephen Cognetti’s Hell House LLC: Lineage surpasses every expectation – and then some.’

More horror to stream right now
The Blogging Banshee summarised: ‘Hell House LLC: Lineage is a bold change for this beloved horror franchise, staying true to its roots even as it delivers exciting new scares, lore, and shocking twists.’
Speaking to Script Magazine, Cognetti explained the pressure he felt wrapping up the film franchise.
‘I had originally gone into Lineage thinking that Origins and Lineage were one and two films of what would be a trilogy. My first draft of Lineage was really intended to be the middle chapter of the trilogy,’ he began.
‘Then I realized that wasn’t going to happen. I wasn’t going to do a sixth film, so I had to make five the final film. That influenced the rewriting process of how I incorporated some of the finishes I wanted to put in there.
‘So, there was some pressure to end it as well as I could and to tie up as many loose ends as I could while also progressing the story. And also making it scary.’
Hell House LLC: Lineage is released on Shudder via Amazon Prime Video on October 30.
