Dwayne Johnson recently made a major announcement about Moana. With the live-action adaptation steadily approaching its release date, the attention around it is growing.

Dwayne Johnson’s live-action Moana tour starts in Hawaii before heading worldwide

Dwayne Johnson recently announced on Instagram that the global live-action Moana tour starts in Hawaii on Monday, June 15, 2026. The wrestler-turned-actor revealed that he and the cast were preparing for this for around a year.

In a promotional clip, Catherine Lagaʻaia, who plays the title character, asks Johnson, “Well, you’re a demigod. Aren’t you gonna show ’em?” The latter responds, “Should I?” before swinging Maui’s fishing hook to reveal all the locations that will be covered, including the aforementioned Hawaii:

Shanghai, China Sydney, Australia London, England Rio De Janeiro, Brazil Miami, United States Puerto Rico Los Angeles, United States New York, United States Tokyo, Japan

The footage concludes with Johnson saying, “Alright. That oughta show ’em.”

Johnson deemed this tour not only a big one but also possibly the biggest in his career. “Deep inhale, and an even longer exhale,” he continued in the caption. The Smashing Machine star acknowledged that while fatigue will kick in, he has made time for his gym routine, meditation, and tequila in each city.

“I’m excited to sit and spend time with everyone to talk about the film, life, and Maui’s beautiful hair,” he further stated. “See some old friends and make new ones too.”

He concluded his announcement by expressing his excitement at introducing Lagaʻaia to fans. “Wheels up and see ya soon,” he added.

Moana premieres on July 10, 2026. Thomas Kail directed from a screenplay by Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller, based on Bush’s script for the 2016 animated film.

Alongside Johnson and Lagaʻaia, John Tui, Frankie Adams, and Rena Owen will also feature in the movie.
