Disney’s Bluey Movie Sets Release Date, Returning Cast, & Logo

BBC Studios and Walt Disney Studios have announced the theatrical release date for Ludo Studio’s upcoming feature-length Bluey movie. It is based on the popular Australian children’s animated series.

When is the Bluey movie release date?

The Bluey movie is now scheduled to arrive in theaters on August 6, 2027. At the moment, it has no competition for the box office on the said date. This marks the big-screen debut of the beloved blue heeler and her family, nearly seven years after the show’s debut.

The CG-animated movie will also feature the voices of Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack as they reprise their respective roles as Bluey’s mum and dad, Chilli and Bandit Heeler. It is written and directed by series creator Joe Brumm, with Richard Jeffery also co-directing. The film is produced by Amber Naismith, with Brumm, Charlie Aspinwall, Daley Pearson, and Justine Flynn serving as executive producers. Disney executive David Greenbaum is overseeing the project along with his team.

Bluey is an Australian animated preschool series that became a global favorite among kids and even adults. It is created and written by Brumm and produced by multi-Emmy Award-winning Ludo Studio in association with Screen Queensland and Screen Australia.

“I really enjoyed the experience of working with a longer format on The Sign in Series 3, so going even further with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that,” Brumm said in a previous statement when the project was first announced. “I’ve always thought Bluey deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together.”
