deadmau5 Reveals Support Lineup for Halloween Shows at Red Rocks

2 weeks ago 3

For the first time, deadmau5 will perform two Halloween shows at Red Rocks, supported by VOWWS, Josh Freese, and Danny Lohner.

deadmau5 is gearing up for his usual fall return to Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, but this time he’s making history by performing there on Halloweekend. New details have been announced about his openers for the spooky shows on October 30-31.

The two-show DEADMAU5 HALLOWEEN run will be the artist’s first time playing at Red Rocks on Halloween. Although Joel Zimmerman, better known as deadmau5, has made it a tradition to perform at the Colorado venue every fall for the past 15 years, the show has never fallen on the 31st itself.

For the occasion, fans can expect spooky, devilish visuals behind the ever-recognizable mau5head. The set should include staples from his catalog like “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” and “The Veldt,” alongside new material. Given the timing, fans can also expect a darker atmosphere similar to his annual Day of the deadmau5 performances. Costumes are encouraged for both nights.

The Australian-born duo VOWWS will open the shows, bringing their darkwave sound to the set with Matt James on guitar and vocals and Rizz on keys and vocals. The pair is known for “Structure of Love II,” a remix featuring Chino Moreno of the alternative metal band Deftones.

Joining them is drummer Josh Freese, who has worked with A Perfect Circle, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, and The Vandals. Multi-instrumentalist Danny Lohner will also support the sets, known for his work with synthwave group The Black Queen. Freese previously played drums on VOWWS’ single “Blood’s On Fire.”

Super fans looking to go all out can also book the Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff package, which includes reserved seating, a fast pass, a dedicated shopping window at the Denver pop-up, a meet-and-greet with Joel, and a limited-edition collectible pin.

Alongside the shows, deadmau5’s mau5hop is popping up in Denver on the same days. This will be the spot for fans to grab limited-edition apparel and collectibles not sold anywhere else. The shop will be open October 30-31 from 11am to 6pm at 95 South Cherokee Street, about 17 minutes east of Red Rocks.

With the spooky holiday falling on a Saturday this year, these Red Rocks shows will definitely be a unique way to celebrate. If seeing deadmau5 on Halloween has been sitting on your bucket list, tickets are still available via AXS.
