DC has a new Green Lantern, and this confirmed casting officially marks the start of an era for the character and the franchise as a whole. Green Lanterns have not had the easiest time in terms of adaptations. That is in large part due to the failure of Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern movie, which was a box office bomb back in 2011.
