Steve (Stephen Nichols) takes a moment while at work to focus on his late friend and Black Patch partner John (Drake Hogestyn). They were more than friends and business partners — John was like a brother to Steve, and he still misses him terribly every single day.
John's son Brady (Eric Martsolf) stops by the office and explains his suspicions about the strange events unfolding recently. Now that Steve is free after returning Gabi's retainer and officially dropping her case, he has all the time in the world to focus on helping Brady.
Holly (Ashley Puzemis, r.) is always happy when Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) is home so the two can catch up on each other's lives. Sarah is also someone who is good at giving advice, but it must be very hard for Sarah not to tell her niece what she knows about Sophia and Tate's baby. Alas, because Sophia was her patient, she is not allowed to say a word.
Brady and Tate (Leo Howard) try to help Rachel (Alice Halsey) through this difficult time. It's hard for her to believe that her mother confessed to trying to kill EJ. Brady is furious with Kristen for not coming forward earlier and for putting everyone — especially Rachel — through the ordeal of testifying. Of course, what he doesn't know is that Kristen took the fall for Rachel, who has no memory of trying to shoot her uncle. Will Rachel pick up on her father's anger?
Tate is thrilled to get a moment alone with his girlfriend, Holly. These two have been through so much together, especially with Tate having fathered a child with Sophia when their relationship was on a break. Soon they will find themselves preparing for the next stage of their lives — college!
Sarah hugs Rachel close to her, knowing how much the young girl is hurting over losing her mother. Brady and Sarah exchange a knowing look. Rachel has always been important to Sarah — especially since, for the first year of Rachel's life, Sarah believed Rachel was her daughter.
Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) runs into Sarah while they are both in Horton Town Square. Teasers indicate that Alex has an apology to make to Sarah. Does it have to do with the end of her marriage to Xander, or is it about something else entirely?
Sophia (Rachel Boyd, r.) has started her new job working at the Brady Pub, where she is serving Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Steve. Kayla appears to be shooting her husband a look that tells him to behave. Is Steve being a difficult customer, or is something else going on here?
On the way to the Brady Pub with Holly, Tate spots Sophia, wearing an employee apron, leaving the restaurant. Is this the first time he realizes that he and Sophia are working at the same place?
