Daredevil Fans Want the Same Thing for Kingpin After Cancellation

Daredevil: Born Again will end with its third season, and Vincent D’Onofrio’s farewell post has fans campaigning for Kingpin’s MCU future. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the show’s conclusion on September 21. The outlet also revealed that showrunner Dario Scardapane departed during post-production after his contract expired.

D’Onofrio took to X to address the news directly. “We so enjoyed bringing Daredevil Born Again to you all. You stuck with us and I like to think we stuck with you,” D’Onofrio wrote. He added that Season 3 is “heading your way next year with some very cool stuff.” The actor also expressed his deep attachment to Wilson Fisk. “I love that character Fisk. Always will,” he said. D’Onofrio then teased a move forward with the cryptic line, “Off to another neck off the woods.”

Fans quickly latched onto that final tease as a hint about future appearances. One user wrote, “Vincent is an irreplaceable actor portraying Wilson Fisk. Hopefully, Fisk will be back – crossing over with Spider-Man.” Another demanded Marvel put these characters on the big screen. “Get these guys in a movie already. Either a Daredevil movie, a Spider-Man movie, or a Punisher movie,” they wrote.

Several fans specifically pushed for Kingpin to appear in Spider-Man 5. “Hopefully there plans for you to return in a Spider-Man movie as Kingpin,” one user posted. Another simply predicted D’Onofrio was headed “to bring Kingpin to Daredevil and Spider-Man movies.” Scooper Daniel Richtman also noted that in the MCU, characters “can always come back in other projects.”

The final season arrives in 2027 amid speculation that major characters could die. One fan urged Marvel not to close the door on D’Onofrio’s Fisk. “I really hope that the end of the series doesn’t mean the end for YOUR Fisk,” they wrote.
