Against the likes of Superman, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Jurassic World Rebirth, one of the summer's biggest hits is the arguably underrated Materialists, by director Celine Song. Alongside Chris Evansand Pedro Pascal, it is Dakota Johnson who delivers the movie's best performance, with some calling it one of the most impressive in her career. Said career has plenty of ups and downs, with perhaps no performance of Johnson's more controversial than that of English Literature student Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy.
