Coronation Street’s Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) is creepy, and there’s no two ways about it, but the creepiest thing about her? There’s still so much we don’t know.

What we do know is that she’s the long lost sister of Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), who escaped their desperately unhappy childhood home and left Jodie behind with her abusive dad and enabling mother, fostering a deep, resentful bitterness within her that she’s evidently not managed to shake.

She re-discovered her sister after escaping from Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) van amid the carnage of Corriedale after he was paid by an organised crime gang to track her down and deliver her to them.

After suffering a vicious and bloody beating from the enforcers of the gang, he admitted to Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry): ‘You remember that problem I was hired to get rid of? I told you when I first saw you. That problem was named Jodie. This is my punishment for letting her escape then terminating my contract.’ Clearly, whoever Jodie was involved with are incredibly dangerous.

Since arriving in Weatherfield, her insidious behaviour has intensified tenfold, though we still have no idea about her ultimate endgame, or why she’s wanted by deadly gangsters.

‘It’s a complicated story, it’s not straightforward, but it’s all going to be cleared up, eventually,’ Olivia previously told The Mirror.

‘There’s going be a few twists and turns before we get there,’ she continued. ‘It’s been difficult – everyone wants to know. It seems like everybody’s got that question, and I always get it, and I can’t answer it.’

While making herself at home at the Platt’s, she’s gone above and beyond to poison the family from within, clearly with the aim of causing Shona pain, making special efforts to turn step-daughter Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) against her and to seduce her husband David Platt (Jack P Shepherd).

It hasn’t stopped there, though, as Jodie continues doing awful things to her neighbours purely for the sake of her own enjoyment, keeping trinkets from her various campaigns in an eerie box: trophies of her various victories.

After a minor clash with Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove), Jodie covertly snuck into her home, viciously cutting Bernie’s face out of her wedding pictures.

Returning home, she placed one of the unnerving, cut out faces inside what her trophy box, heaving with belongings from other people who’ve dared to cross her in whatever form or fashion. Alongside the pictures was a book stolen from Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) after she had a confrontation with him in the shop.

She also wormed her way into the Swarla household, ostensibly to help with baby Connie, before she stole Lisa Swain’s (Vicky Myers) police badge, creating further havoc with her new ‘power’.

Could Olivia bring Jodie’s world down? (Picture: Danielle Baguley/ITV)

She’s deeply rocked this week, though, by the re-emergence of Olivia (Lucy Dulson). Olivia had previously discovered Jodie on the street, seemingly a child she’d previously nannied for, though she told Olivia that she was now in witness protection after having witnessed a murder, urging her to promise she wouldn’t reveal her location to anybody else.

With Olivia back in Weatherfield, Jodie was forced to introduce her to Shona, despite her evident unease at the potential of two of her worlds colliding. Shona’s warmth and invitation for Olivia to have dinner with them frustrated Jodie further as she continued to push her to leave, but when Olivia dropped a comment about Jodie’s ‘protection thing’, Shona’s ears pricked up.

Jodie is clearly exceptionally talented at spinning tales and creating entire worlds, but could she be felled by a child? Could Olivia be the one to cause everything to unravel?
