It turns out that the sniper whom the team has been pursuing is Todd, who is actually an FBI agent operating under an assumed identity. While the team initially assumed an FBI agent named Seth Lewis was behind it all, it seems that Todd was using the identity to do it all himself.

But in a shocking twist, Todd kidnapped Oliveras in the final episode. He not only kidnapped Oliveras but also terrorized her. By the end of the episode, he took off her blindfolds and removed her handcuffs. He then commanded her to get out of the car and run.

In the closing moments, he pointed his sniper rifle at Oliveras as she ran. The series concluded its first season before showing what happened after this. The cliffhanger ending means that fans will have to wait until the next season of Countdown to find out what went down with Oliveras.
