A whole host of Coronation Street stars past and present have reunited and fans can’t get enough.

Cobbles alumna Faye Brookes took to social media this weekend to share a carousel of pictures, alongside fellow alumni Daniel Brocklebank and Sue Cleaver, and current stars Alison King and Julia Goulding.

‘The reunion I didn’t know I needed…’ The Kate Connor star wrote in the caption of the Instagram post, explaining that her co-stars had come to show their support for her latest theatre venture.

She continued to share the love for her colleagues, adding: ‘The love and support in the room last night was beyond words. Super grateful to you all. See you soon beautiful people. Love my Corrie fam.’

Faye left the role of Kate in 2019 and has since had numerous theatre roles. During her time on the ITV soap, she was involved in some major storylines, including her fan-favourite relationship with Rana Habeeb.

Rana and Kate were set to tie the knot when tragedy struck as the factory roof collapsed while Rana was inside, ultimately killing her before they got the chance to officially marry.

Faye is currently starring in Double Double alongside Billy Mayhew star Daniel Brocklebank at the Barn Theatre Cirencester.

Having first debuted in 1986, Double Double is described as ‘My Fair Lady meets Dial M For Murder,’ with the synopsis continuing: ‘This story of power, love and illusion will draw you in and keep you guessing until the very last line.’

Daniel left Corrie earlier this year when his character was killed off in the dramatic Corriedale crossover. He was trapped in the burning minibus by Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), and was unable to get out before it exploded.

Fans were thrilled to see Faye and Daniel reunite with their co-stars, taking to the comments with enthusiastic messages.

‘So fantastic to see you with your cast members you look so happy,’ one said, while another wrote: ‘Ahh the reunion we all needed!’

Of course, countless comments were calling for Faye to return to the cobbles to reprise her role as Kate – something she previously showed her appreciation for, praising her fans for their support.

‘I get a lot of, “Why is Kate not coming back?” I think that’s a really lovely thing to have them want me to come back to Coronation Street, because Kate didn’t die.

‘She’s still alive and travelling, and those doors left open, and also that’s an opportunity to be had in itself,’ she told the Express.

‘I think going back…yes, that door is open, and if that is in my journey, great. But I love the fact that I am continuing with new projects, new characters, and the fans are just as supportive,’ she enthused.

She continued: ‘Coronation Street catapulted my career, so I never condemn it. I always celebrate it. And I think that’s what the fans are doing for me at the same time.’
