Coronation Street character rushed to hospital after crash in new spoiler video

Poor old Summer Spellman’s (Harriet Bibby) not having much luck in Coronation Street, is she?

It’s bad enough that her adoptive dad Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) was bumped off by the evil Theo Silverton (James Cartwright). Then she became a major suspect in the villain’s murder.

The police had her bang to rights. Not only was she thelast person to see Theo alive. Her diary had a pretty damning passage about wanting to hold a gun to Theo’s head. And her plans to study in America looked an awful lot like running away. So the police took her in for questioning.

Nothing ruins your year like being accused of murder. (Picture: ITV)

Things looked pretty bad for Summer Time. So bad in fact, that at her lowest ebb, she turned off her insulin point and refused treatment for diabetes, effectively choosing to end her own life knowing that she wouldn’t survive prison.Summer turned her back on everything, even her faith in God.

Fortunately Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) exonerated Summer when he finally came forward and backed up her story for that night.

Now Summer’s been putting her life back together slowly but surely with a little bit of help from her friends like Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney). She’s even managed to have herself a Summer romance on the cards.

Newcomer Marco certainly got Summer’s pulse racing when she first met the aspiring tattoo artist. But her new crash managed to raise a red flag by stealing her drawing and putting it up in the window of his tattoo shop. While Summer naturally thought he was nicking her idea, Marco explained he only did it so that he’d definitely see her again. Cute, right? In a slightly crimey sort of way.

Marco and Summer have a pretty bizarre meet-cute.

Things are about to get crimier still, in this sneak peak Corrie video teasing next week’s episode.

After taking call informing her that Marco’s been involved in a car accident, a distraught Summer rushes into hospital into A&E, where PC Jess Heywood (Donnaleigh Bailey) is waiting for her.

After learning that Summer is in a relationship with Marco, PC Jess gets pretty personal with her line of questioning as she wonders how long they’ve been dating.

When Summer tersely wonders how that’s her business, Jess insists it’s absolutely her business if ‘lover boy decided to play getaway driver’.

Looks like Summer’s new man might be a wrong’un…
