Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's War 2 clashed with Rajinikanth's Coolie on August 14, 2025. Both films managed to drag audiences to the theatres and raked in impressive numbers. War 2 and Coolie emerged as two of the biggest releases of the year and has now entered their third week. War 2 has been enjoying an amazing run at the box office and has witnessed major fluctuations after its blockbuster opening. The film collected Rs 52 crore on Day 1 (Thursday), and on Day 2 (Friday), the film earned Rs 57.85 crore. The film witnessed a dip over the weekend and earned Rs 33.25 crore on Day 3 (Saturday) and Rs 32.65 crore on Day 4 (Sunday). On day 15, as per early estimates suggest, the film collected Rs 1.50 crore and its total box office collection is around Rs 231.25 crore. War 2 is a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, which starred Hrithik Roshan as Agent Kabir and Jr NTR plays the role of Agent Vikram. Anil Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana are also in important roles.

While Coolie received a blockbuster opening with Rs 65 crore on Day 1 (Thursday) and has managed strong momentum. As per early figures from Sacnilk, Coolie collected Rs 1.75 crore on Day 15 and its total collection is around Rs 270.85 crore. The film has emerged as a major commercial success. The film is about Deva, a former gold smuggler who is now working as a coolie and he revives his old gang with stolen technology hidden in vintage golden watches. The film stars Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Kanna Ravi, Monisha Blessy and Kaali Venkat in pivotal roles. Aamir Khan will be seen in a cameo role. The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures.
