Christopher Nolan delivered his biggest global box-office debut this past weekend with The Odyssey. Remarkably, the movie grossed more in its opening frame than even Nolan's second and third Batman movies, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Both those films eventually made more than $1 billion worldwide, and Nolan's 2023 release, Oppenheimer, nearly joined them with a $975 million global haul. With the sort of figures that The Odyssey has posted already, it seems poised to become Nolan's third film to enter the esteemed one-billion club. It's certainly among the most ambitious projects of Nolan's career, which includes several large-scale epics.
