The Man Without Fear is keeping Marvel fans guessing about his future as Daredevil, especially when it comes to bumping into Spider-Man again. While interest in a proper team-up continues to grow, Charlie Cox recently answered whether he will even appear in the next season of Marvel’s animated Spider-Man series.
Charlie Cox doesn’t know if he’s in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2
Despite Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man already confirming more Daredevil in its upcoming season, Charlie Cox revealed he hasn’t been told if he’s part of it. Speaking during the Daredevil: Born Again panel at C2E2 2026, the actor said, “I actually don’t know if I am. The show is great. I was in the first season. I don’t know if I’m in the second season. I have no idea.”
He also explained why the uncertainty exists. “It is an awesome show. When I did the first season of that, I didn’t get scripts. It’s very secretive like our show is, so I just got scenes. So, it’s kind of fun because I know what I say, but then I get to watch it and enjoy it.” The secrecy surrounding Marvel projects appears to extend even to the actors involved.
Fans last heard Cox’s voice as Daredevil in Season 1 of the animated series, where a multiverse version of Spider-Man teamed up with the character. Tom Holland and Cox have both expressed interest in a live-action crossover. However, the closest the Marvel Cinematic Universe has come so far is Cox’s brief cameo as Peter Parker’s lawyer in Spider-Man: No Way Home. A moment that stopped short of a full superhero pairing.
The animated show presents a unique perspective on Spider-Man’s story. Created by Jeff Trammell and streaming on Disney+, the series explores an alternate timeline within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In this version, Norman Osborn mentors Peter Parker instead of Tony Stark, allowing the story to reimagine familiar relationships. Season 2 is expected to premiere in late 2026, with a third season already in development.
