The final Canadian remaining in singles at the US Open is off to the fourth round.
Felix Auger-Aliassime upset No. 3-seeded Alexander Zverev 4-6, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the round of 16 at the final major of the year.
After dropping the opening set, the 25-year-old Canadian settled in and played some of his best tennis of the year to pull off the upset.
It was also the first time that Auger-Aliassime has ever beaten a top-five-ranked player at a major.
The Canadian will move on to face Andrey Rublev in the fourth round.
More to come.
