Everyone’s been asking when Caitlin Clark is gonna get her shoe, and to be honest? She deserves it as much as everyone else. Over the past year, the Indiana Fever star has completely revolutionized the way we think about women’s basketball, drawing fame and acclaim to the league. However, off-court endeavors around her have always felt lacking.
Sure, she was in the Super Bowl ad, but even her rival in Chicago got a shoe announcement before her. Luckily, Nike took action this past week and unveiled the CC logo to the world! This time, however, they were open to trying something new.
Nick DePaula explained how her logo is completely different than that of the Kobes or the Jordans. “So their logo is always sort of the first big step of these deals right? And I kind of break it down into three buckets. So you have what I call initials and number logos, and then you have a symbol logo, so like Kobe’s logo, and then you have silhouette, I think everyone’s familiar with the jumpman.” He said.
Sneaker insider @NickDePaula on Caitlin Clark’s new logo for her signature shoe with Nike:
“We’re going to see a lot of this come to life almost as if it’s a fashion logo.”
