There will be a new way to build the Evangelion EVA Unit-01 and Unit-02 that doesn’t involve model kits, as two Nanoblock sets based on them are on the way. Kawada confirmed they’ll show up in Japan on July 18, 2026 for 1,760円 (~$11) each. The company also opened up Amazon pages for both shortly after that confirmed a September 25, 2026 launch for $15.95 each.

The official names for these two EVA Nanoblock sets are the Evangelion Test Type-01 and Production Model-02. They’re both roughly based on the Rebuild movies. Each are a three out of five in terms of difficulty. Unit-01 has 280 pieces, while 02 has 290. There is some articulation to each one after being built, as someone can move the arms and legs to pose them once it is done. Both will be close to four and a half inches tall, though Unit-01 is 115mm (4.5in) compared to 02’s 108mm (4.25in).

Here’s how they’ll look when fully built. One of Kawada’s photos involved a person holding a finished build in their hand to offer a better sense of scale. The official box art that will be used worldwide also already appeared.

In addition to the upcoming Nanoblock kits, there are standard figures on the way. Good Smile Company confirmed Beach Queens Pop Up parade L-size figures of Asuka Shikinami Langley and Rei Ayanami are in development. That is the line where every character is in a swimsuit. Those will launch in 2027.

The two Evangelion Nanoblock kits of EVA Unit-01 and Unit-02 will show up in Japan on July 18, 2026 and the US on September 25, 2026. The anime is streaming on Netflix and Rebuild of Evangelion movies are on Amazon
