Brian Tyler Debuts ARE WE DREAMING Project on Monstercat and NCS

The first taste of Brian Tyler’s new project, ARE WE DREAMING, has arrived with the release of its debut single, “Godlike.” Out now via Monstercat and NCS.

Brian Tyler has become one of the most prolific composers working across film, television, and video games over the past two decades. His portfolio speaks for itself, featuring massive box office hits like Avengers: Age of Ultron and multiple installments of the Fast & Furious franchise, along with video games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Yet for his latest project, ARE WE DREAMING, he’s shifted to the electronic music scene.

ARE WE DREAMING will see Tyler draw on his experience as a composer to craft an audio-visual universe to marry cinematic elements with electronic beats. Renowned label Monstercat, which is currently in the midst of celebrating its 15th anniversary, and NCS are playing host to this unique project. Today, the first taste of what’s to come has arrived in the form of the project’s debut single, “Godlike.”

‘Godlike’ has been a journey to bring to this point. Now on the brink of the full ARE WE DREAMING rollout, it feels fitting that the first version of this song was how I opened my set at Lost Lands a few years ago. Since then, the song has evolved into something much bigger — a journey through time and space, power and emotion, awe and epic scale through the story I directed visually to go with it: the story of the “other,” the unknown.

Tyler added that “Godlike” marks the beginning of a new era for him as he dives into creating music and visuals to tell his own story. The track offers a larger-than-life soundscape that leans heavily into the bass realm, with punchy elements, pitched vocal samples, and a sick lyrical flow layered in to add to the overall ambiance.

This release marks the first for ARE WE DREAMING, but it’s already been found in a live setting. Brian Tyler first debuted the project during a performance at Lost Lands in 2021, and it’s since gone international, touching down at F1 75 Live at The O2 in London and at Kraków Film Music Festival in Poland.
