GameCentral scours the Amazon Prime Big Day Deals event for the best video game related discounts, though only one console has seen a price drop.
Amazon has kicked off what it calls the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, which will only be running today and tomorrow, until October 7.
It’s very similar to normal Amazon Prime Day events, since it exists to offer a wide array of discounts for Amazon Prime members – so if you’re not one you don’t get any money off.
This includes gaming related discounts and though offers on actual video games are slimmer than usual this time, there are some enticing deals on controllers and, interestingly, the Nex Playground.
How to get the Nex Playground cheap
You may recall the Nex Playground as being the Xbox Kinect-esque video game console that managed to outsell both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in the US during Black Friday last year.
It launched in the UK in June and while it may not be as much of a household name as the Nintendo Switch, it’s clearly found great success by being more affordable than other consoles and for targeting the sorely overlooked market of very young children.
If you’ve been at all interested, but maybe found its £269 price tag a bit off-putting, Nex is running a temporary 20% discount, bringing it down to £215.
This only nets you the five games built into the console, since the full library of 60+ games requires a subscription fee, but that’s discounted too as part of Amazon Prime Big Day Deals.
The Nex Playground with a three-month Play Pass is currently £246.98 instead of £314.99, and the Nex Playground with a 12-month Play Pass is currently £287.99 instead of £359.99.
You can purchase both options, as well as the Nex Playground on its own, via this Amazon link. While the Play Pass discounts are Prime exclusives, you don’t need to be a Prime member to buy the base console at its discounted price.
Best Amazon Prime Big Deal Days discounts on game controllers
Controller manufacturer GameSir has partnered with Amazon to run 20% discounts on its own bespoke hardware. GameSir’s controllers are primarily compatible with Xbox consoles and PCs, although we spotted at least one that works with the Switch as well.
Regular Xbox controllers are part of the 20% discount too, whereas PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers are only discounted by 8%.

Amazon Prime Day’s video game offers can often be a bit lacklustre, but while it does vary, this week’s Big Day Deals is not one of the good ones.
There’s very little here, especially when it comes to more recent releases, but we spotted a handful of discounts that may catch your eye. The most notable is one for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which only launched in July.
