It's often said that the best thrillers take you beyond finding the person who's responsible for committing a crime, and finding something darker along the way. Ben Affleck (Argo) embraced that approach with his first movie as a director, delivering a dark Boston-set story built around a missing child and an increasingly difficult moral question. It's sometimes forgotten when mentioning Affleck's best movies, but it's worth revisiting now that it's back on streaming.
