When thinking of 2002, what's the first film that comes to mind? It was a year packed with critical darlings and blockbuster movies that defined franchises, like Sam Raimi's original Spider-Man, the second installment of Chris Columbus' Harry Potter series, Peter Jackson's epic sequel The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and the next chapter in George Lucas' Star Wars prequel trilogy, Attack of the Clones. Beyond that, an animation staple was born, or rather unfrozen, with the first Ice Age movie, and James Bond returned for its 20th outing, Die Another Day, the final spy adventure for Pierce Brosnan. Rising above them all, as far as awards were concerned, was the Best Picture-winning Chicago, led by Renée Zellweger.
