Chadwick Boseman died five years ago this week, and tributes are raining in once again for the man who achieved global icon status with roles like Jackie Robinson in 42, James Brown in Get On Up, Thurgood Marshall in Marshall, and, of course, King T’Challa in Black Panther. But long before Marvel and movie stardom, Boseman was honing his craft in relative anonymity on television. One of his early and best-known roles was on Lincoln Heights, a family drama on the then-ABC Family (now Freeform).
