Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head is set to return to linear television on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The new season, which marks the fourth installment of the series’ modern revival and its 12th season overall, will premiere at 10:30 PM ET/PT on Comedy Central.
The 12-episode season will anchor a dedicated Wednesday night animation block, airing immediately following new episodes of South Park at 10:00 PM. This scheduling strategy reunites two of the network’s most recognizable adult animation properties on a single night.
The new 12-episode season continues the modern revival of the 1993 series.
A Potential Turning Point for the Franchise
While the premiere signals a return for the Highland duo, it comes at a critical juncture for the franchise’s ownership and future production. Mike Judge is reported to be moving toward reclaiming the rights to Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head in 2027 through a legal mechanism known as copyright termination.
Under Section 203 of the Copyright Act, creators are granted the right to terminate grants of transfer or licenses after a period of 35 years. Since the characters first appeared in the early 1990s, Judge is positioned to exercise this provision next year. This legal maneuver could make the upcoming Season 4 the final season produced under the current long-standing agreement with Paramount.
The Evolution of the Revival
The modern iteration of the show originally launched as a flagship streaming title. While the first three seasons of the 2022 revival are currently available for streaming on Paramount+, the shift to a primary linear debut on Comedy Central for Season 4 reflects a strategic adjustment in how the brand reaches its audience.
Mike Judge continues to voice both titular characters, maintaining the vocal continuity that has defined the series since its 1993 debut on MTV. The upcoming episodes are expected to follow the established format of the revival, which places the duo in the modern era, reacting to contemporary social media trends and viral videos rather than the traditional music video format of the 1990s.
The return of the series arrives exactly two weeks from today, solidifying Comedy Central’s mid-week lineup as the franchise enters what may be its final chapter under its current corporate structure.
