‘Avengers: Endgame’ Officially Overtakes ‘Avatar’ to Become the Highest-Grossing Hit of All Time

Despite a massive 83% decline this past weekend, Avengers: Endgame retained a spot in the top 10 on the domestic box office list and achieved what it had set out to do. The highest-grossing Marvel Cinematic Universe movie of all time is now also the highest-grossing movie in global box-office history. This is the second time that the film has earned this title, having overtaken the original Avatar on both occasions. Endgame finished its original run as the highest-grossing hit ever made, but it lost the top spot when Avatar was re-released in 2022. Endgame itself is currently enjoying a major re-release ahead of its sequel, Avengers: Doomsday, which is slated for release this December.
