2025 was a picture-perfect year for fans of Apple TV sci-fi shows, with some of the biggest releases in platform history. The first show that immediately comes to mind is Pluribus, which shattered records on its way to becoming the most-watched Apple TV show in history — and one of the most popular sci-fi shows, period. Apple TV made a no-brainer decision in renewing Pluribus for Season 2, but creator Vince Gilligan admits he’s stumped on writing new episodes of the show. To reach the top of Apple TV’s hierarchy of streaming greatness, though, Pluribus had to crawl past Severance, which also aired another season in 2025. Like Pluribus, Severance has also been renewed for another season, but it doesn’t seem likely that either show will make its return anytime soon.
