The past few days have been quite busy for Angel City FC. Beyond giving their best in the ongoing 2025 NWSL campaign, the California-based club had been caught up in a lot of paperwork as they completed the surprise exit of not one but two first-team players, none other than the midfield duo of Katie Zelem and Alanna Kennedy, to London City Lionesses. But just when one would expect them to look for a potential replacement for these players, the ACFC has been linked with yet another transfer of their highly rated youngster, Alyssa Thompson.
The 20-year-old forward has been on a meteoric rise ever since making her debut in 2022, securing a crucial member spot not just on the domestic front but also on the international front. And given her age, one sees playing for the Angels as just the beginning of her career. Then again, it looks like something big is coming on the way, which only doubles the problem for the NWSL side.
Though the youngster is linked with a move to the WSL, it’s certainly not London City Lionesses again. According to the reports from Guardian writer Tom Garry, Chelsea is reportedly interested in signing Alyssa Thompson.
