Andy Serkis’s long-gestating passion project, Animal Farm, is now in theaters. The adaptation has been in development for more than a decade, shifting from an initial live-action, performance capture to a softer animated aesthetic for its target audience, “particularly for young, inquiring minds,” Serkis tells Collider’s Steve Weintraub. For the director, the goal is to reintroduce George Orwell’s enduring satire to a new generation.
