Cape Fear is trending high on Apple TV’s streaming charts

Cape Fear is off to a strong start on Apple TV, quickly emerging as one of the platform’s most-watched series.

According to FlixPatrol, the show ranked third on Apple TV’s Top 10 TV Shows chart in the United States on June 10, 2026, despite having released only two episodes. It has outperformed several popular shows, including Ted Lasso, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, For All Mankind, Shrinking, and Criminal Record.

Developed by Nick Antosca, Cape Fear launched on Apple TV on June 5, 2026, with its first two episodes. The psychological thriller follows a weekly roll-out strategy, with the remaining episodes arriving every Friday. The season consists of 10 episodes, with the finale set to premiere on July 31.

The story begins when Max Cady, a violent former convict, is released from prison after serving time for the murders of his wife and unborn child. Seventeen years earlier, attorney Anna Bowden represented Cady and persuaded him to accept a guilty plea, a decision that resulted in a life sentence. After regaining his freedom, Cady sets out to exact revenge on Anna and her husband, Tom Bowden.

He begins using his legal knowledge and understanding of the justice system to target the couple. Javier Bardem leads the cast as Max Cady, with Amy Adams portraying Anna Bowden and Patrick Wilson playing Tom Bowden. The series also stars Joe Anders as Zack Bowden, Lily Collias as Natalie Bowden, and CCH Pounder as Noa Toussaint.

Critical response has been largely favorable since the show’s debut. On Rotten Tomatoes, Cape Fear currently holds a 75% critics’ score based on 61 reviews. Audience reactions have been more divided, resulting in a 61% rating.
