Another big week in Erinsborough (Picture: Prime/Michael Adams/Metro)

Neighbours is lining up an emotional exit for Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) next week.

As the Ramsay Street residents gather to wish him well in his new life with Rhett Norman (Liam Maguire), father-in-law Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) makes a heartfelt speech declaring Aaron as one of his own.

But the departure leaves Paul wondering, what about his own kids?

Well, as luck would have it, daughter Elle (Elise Jansen) is making her way back to Erinsborough, bringing bags full of drama (and a new face!)

She instantly twists the knife, dropping Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) in it with Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) by revealing her plans to sell Eirini Rising.

Elsewhere, Nell Rebecchi (Ayisha Salem-Towner) calls time on her relationship with JJ Varga-Murphy (Riley Bryant) and Nicolette Stone (Hannah Monson) harbours feelings for another resident.

Up Next

Plus, despite their earlier agreement to keep their distance, Andrew Rodwell (Lloyd Will) struggles to resist temptation, falling back into Holly Hoyland’s (Lucinda Armstrong-Hall) arms.

The farewell street party gets underway, and he pulls Holly to one side for a heart to heart. She insists that she has no intentions of doing something anything stupid, but he’s not fully convinced.

Catching Karl, he warns him that she may be addicted to drama and it’s worth keeping an eye on her.

With everyone out to show Aaron and Rhett their support, Jane clocks Nicolette snapping at Cara – which is unusual given how close they’ve been since Remi’s amnesia was diagnosed.

She presses her daughter to open up, worried that Nic may be pushing away friends in her hour of need. But Nic remains resolute, she’s fine, and wasn’t planning to lean on Cara anyway.

Jane is sure that Nic is getting jealous.

Toadie returns from Colac to say goodbye to Aaron and to bring Nell home. JJ is overjoyed to see her, but it’s clear that she’s not herself.

Secretly, she’s come to the decision not to be with him anymore. He tries his best to lift her spirits, but his kindness pushes her over the edge and she decides not to string him along anymore.

The time comes for Aaron and Rhett to drive off into the sunset, and they makes their way through their nearest and dearest to say goodbye.

Paul is emotional seeing Aaron leave, and makes a heartfelt speech, declaring him as another son. It’s a very fitting goodbye.

Feeling sentimental about his own children, he tries to build a bridge with Krista, but gets a surprise text from Elle. She announces that she’s quit her job and is coming back to Erinsborough.

But is there more to her decision?

Tuesday, September 2

Nicolette tries to distract herself from her feelings for Cara, and decides to organise a date with her cousin Maddy. Jane’s eyebrow is raised, but Nic insists that it’s not a big deal.

The next day, however, she has to admit to herself that her mum could be right.

Toadie and Dex try and deal with the fallout of Nell’s shock breakup with JJ, and while she wants to maintain a friendship with the Varga-Murphy boys, Dex is clear that his loyalty lies with his brother.

Elle returns from New York and Terese is wary, remembering the time that she arranged for all of Paul’s ex-wives to come into their lives before their wedding in 2019.

Paul has long accepted his daughter’s apology, but she doesn’t help herself by joking over Terese’s failed marriage to Toadie.

Krista encourages Leo to contact a mutual friend in The States to find out what happened to Elle’s job, and they’re shocked to learn that she was actually fired in scandalous circumstances.

In front of everyone, Terese confronts her.

Wednesday, September 3

Elle is forced to reluctantly admit that she was fired. Terese eventually apologises, but ultimately she has far bigger fish to fry.

She’s arranged a secret meeting with Colton, who now works for the Sunset Retirement Group. She’s hoping that the group will purchase Eirini Rising and solve her financial issues.

However, if they were to come on board, Susan would lose her job.

Elle overhears Terese telling her dad about the offer, and decides to use it as leverage.

Meanwhile, Susan meets with Monte Jones, a potential buyer for one of Eirini’s studios. She realises that he’s a celebrity, having shot to fame in a coffee advert in the 80s and a distinctive catchphrase.

She’s determined to protect his identity from Vera and Moira, but is surprised when he reveals that he loves the attention.

With the contract signed, she celebrates her success – until Elle drops the bombshell.

Elsewhere, Sadie keeps Taye at arm’s length, but he’s determined to keep himself in her orbit. He books himself in for a treatment at the Lassiters Day Spa, but she instantly sees through his motives.

By the end of the day, the two are clearly happy to be close to one another…

Thursday, September 4

Susan confronts Terese about the buy-out, and finds out that Elle was telling the truth.

Terese is adamant that she’s decided against selling, but Susan can’t help but remain concerned. She addresses the worries with Toadie, but after their debrief, Susan urges Terese to rethink the offer.

Privately, she’s gutted at the thought of losing her job and having to retire again. After an honest conversation, the women realise that they’re better off as a dream team to turn Eirini’s fortunes around.

Meanwhile, Elle feigns innocence when confronted over her scheming, saying that she thought it was common knowledge. Terese can see straight through her, but suggests they reach a truce for Paul’s sake.

Elle reluctantly agrees, but they both know that this tiff is far from over.

Elsewhere, Andrew and Holly throw themselves back into their respective relationships.

But when Andrew can’t perform in the bedroom with Wendy, and Holly reaches breaking point with Max, the two are drawn together.

Later, Max expresses concerns to Andrew that Bowman is still on Holly’s mind, and the copper decides to go next door to check in on her.

She’s determined to be steadfast about the affair being over, but they both can’t resist the temptation and end up kissing again.
