While Clint Eastwood is best known for his starring roles in Westerns, at least initially (see The Good, the Bad and the Ugly), and also quite well known for directing Westerns (see Unforgiven), he’s done far more than just films in that genre. Going through the 40 films he’s directed, you find movies of all different sorts, including a romance film (The Bridges of Madison County), plenty of biopics, and even something of an adventure movie (The Eiger Sanction). As someone who quite likes to explore things like masculinity, violence, and justice, it’s not too surprising to find Eastwood’s also directed several war movies, too.
