In an interview to News18 Showsha, Soni Razdan said that when she started acting, she was doing very good projects. But after marriage, everything changed suddenly. She stopped getting work and the attitude of the industry also changed towards her. Soni said that she has spent a long time in the industry and she was seeing that after marriage her career almost came to a standstill. According to her, people started seeing her only as Mahesh Bhatt's wife and not as an actress. She said, "When I started out, I was doing really well. And then, suddenly, I got married. I wasn't getting any work after that."

What became the turning point for Soni Razdan?

Soni further said that when she was not getting work after marriage, Ramesh Sippy and Jyoti Saroop's TV serial Buniyaad proved to be a turning point for her. This show gave her recognition again and later she got a chance to work in some good films as well. In her words: "I got a feedback from somewhere that since she's now so and so's wife, why does she need to work? I got so angry! But then, luckily, Buniyaad happened and after that, I got to work in some really good films. But before that, I was so upset. But this is what has changed today."

What are the regrets of Soni Razdan?

Soni Razdan also said in the interview that her whole life she has been associated with someone else's identity - sometimes Mahesh Bhatt's wife and sometimes Alia Bhatt's mother. She feels that her real name and identity have been left behind. However, she clearly said that her struggle is personal and has nothing to do with her family. She said, "Let me be very loud and clear My struggle is still to be known by who I am. I'm happy for the people around me, who're doing so well in their lives. How could I not be? I'm grateful."
