Sometimes, no matter how good a show is, there are so many factors at play that it becomes impossible to keep it going. From creative differences to budget constraints to cast members departing, many things can lead to a cancellation, even when a show is doing well structurally and critically. Many scripted shows in Syfy's lineup were cancelled as the platform downsized following a change by its parent company, NBCUniversal. As a result, shows like Chucky, Reginald the Vampire, and Resident Alienwere cancelled as the new media entity tried to cut costs.
