After 'How to Train Your Dragon,' DreamWorks Should Definitely Do a Live-Action Remake of This Underrated and Often-Memed Movie


Given the acclaim that the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragonhas already received, it is more than likely that DreamWorks will continue to make new versions of their animated films. Walt Disney Studios has found great financial success with their remakes of The Jungle Book, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and this year’s Lilo & Stitch, and while DreamWorks may desire the same outcome, it’s more difficult to identify films within their library that could benefit from a second interpretation. Although Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, and Trolls are all very popular franchises, they do not feature prominent human characters, which may make it challenging to justify a remake that uses live-action elements. However, Megamindis an underrated DreamWorks animated film that could benefit from being told in live-action.
