49 years after it began, Star Wars has officially replaced Darth Vader as the franchise's greatest villain. Star Wars' villains have always been an iconic part of the franchise, from Emperor Palpatine to Darth Vader himself. The latter has long been considered the best the franchise has to offer, in time becoming one of the most iconic in cinema history.
