While Ryan Murphy is far from running out of new shows, the first two seasons of his Monster franchise, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Storyand Monsters: The Erik and Lyle Menendez Story, weren't exactly crowd-pleasers. The first season, starring Evan Peters as Jeffrey Dahmer, currently stands at a 57% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while Season 2, which was led by Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch as murderous brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez, scores even lower at 45%. And while the shows certainly generated some public discourse, and even gave an Emmy to Niecy Nash for her role as Glenda Cleveland in Season 1, the shows have been disappointing, to say the least. But, luckily, it seems Season 3 of the series, recently announced as Monster: The Ed Gein Story, will turn it around.
