Stan Lee was one of the most influential creators who helped redefine the superhero genre by introducing characters who had their fair share of flaws and weaknesses. While his heroes could save cities or battle against cosmic threats, they still struggled with everyday problems, from finances to relationship trouble or other personal hardships. Whereas older heroes were presented as idealistic, Lee delivered characters who were grounded and relatable.
