Goku powering up to beat impossibly powerful enemies is the center of more-or-less every narrative arc in Dragon Ball. Or that’s how it appears on the surface, at least. Realistically, however, Goku often relies on help from his allies to take down their greatest threats. The number of opponents Goku has beaten in a true 1v1 fight is far smaller than the list of those he’s beaten overall.
