A comic book villain is supposed to make the hero look good. Normally, that means they have an advantage over their opponent. For example, the Joker isn’t as strong or skilled as Batman. His willingness to kill and put innocent people in danger gives him the upper hand over the Dark Knight. Conquest was more powerful, tougher, and more experienced than Invincible, but Mark finally won because he was more determined to win. In both cases, when the villain loses, it’s impressive because the hero overcame something.
