South Park has been a staple of adult animation since it premiered in 1997. The series takes place in the fictional small Colorado town of South Park, and follows the lives of Stan Marsh (Trey Parker), Kyle Broflovski (Matt Stone), Eric Cartman (Trey Parker), and Kenny McCormick (Matt Stone) and their sidekick Butters (Matt Stone). The series is known for its use of profanity and dark humor to tell funny and often pointed stories that comment on society.
