No other movie genre depends on an emotional response from the audience quite like horror. Comedies need to make you laugh, dramas can produce tears, and a great thriller gets the heart pumping. Horror, however, must produce the most primal emotion of them all: fear. From the opening scene and throughout, a great horror film has the viewer scared and on the edge of their seat. None of that matters though if you don't stick the landing.
