The term "romantasy" is a portmanteau of the words "romantic" and "fantasy," referring to a genre of fiction involving equal parts love and magic. This can either focus on high or low fantasy worlds, but must primarily focus on the blossoming relationship between two characters, as well as making magic and monsters a prominent piece of storytelling. It's actually a pretty popular genre, tracing its origins way back to the days of Gothic horror.
